About Us

Hello!   I'm Jenni Hopfinger, and welcome to my website!

I paint on almost anything, and here you will find a variety of my work.

You will also find creations by my father, Joe Hopfinger,

and colored pencil drawings by my husband, Paul Dominguez.

My artwork is a product of my endless fascination with color, textures, shapes, and patterns, and my experiments with their endless combinations.

My hand painted glassware is produced in a manner which makes it truly functional.  It is intended to be used and enjoyed every day.

The glassware is painted with layers of non-toxic acrylic enamel.   I sketch each design on paper, and design the color palette.   My paint colors are all hand-mixed.

I paint in series of 12 -18 pieces in a particular pattern and color scheme.  Each glass piece in the series coordinates with, and complements the others in the series, yet no two pieces are identical.  Each piece is signed and dated.

Once painted, the glass must dry for a time period, and then is fired.    This process ensures that each finished piece is truly functional tableware, intended to be used and enjoyed regularly and repeatedly.

Although dishwasher-safe, gentle hand-washing with regular dish soap is recommended to extend the beauty of the glass.  Dry immediately to avoid water spotting.

My work created from wood is the result of my collaboration with my father, Joe Hopfinger.

Dad designs and creates each piece -  he does all the calculating of proper measurements, cuts the wood using a variety of electric and hand tools, base coats and sands each wooden shape.  Then I paint and construct each piece.

In other words, I do all the fun work and dear Dad does all the hard work!

None of the wooden pieces would exist  without the exacting calculations and technical expertise, as well as the creative mind,  of my Dad, Joe.

My husband, Paul Dominguez, is an enthusiastic and active admirer  of Wisconsin's wildlife and landscapes.   When he's not outdoors -  fishing, canoeing, biking or taking long walks  or tending our flower and kitchen gardens with me, he is at his table in our studio, drawing what he so enjoys out of doors.

His two books, My Fish Book and My Bird Book, are filled with his beautiful illustrations of fish and birds native to Wisconsin.  They are informative as well as enjoyable reading.
